BROOKDALE
FARM
Hayride — During the tractor-pulled hayride to our pumpkin field, students see corn and soybean crops. They see and learn where corn comes from as we demonstrate pulling an ear of corn from the stalk, removing the husk, and shelling kernels from the cob. See our newly planted strawberries, too!
Farm Animals
— Learn how real farm
animals feel, sound, and smell on a
real working farm. See
the sheep in our pasture. Feel wool
shorn from one of our sheep this spring. Learn
about our turkeys. Learn about a
horse and a donkey. See what our
animals eat and learn how we care for them
.
Pumpkins
— Our hayride stops in a real pumpkin field, where we show pumpkin seeds and
discuss how we grow pumpkins, and where each student and adult
selects a pie pumpkin to take home! Larger
carving-type pumpkins are already picked
and are available for purchase, if desired, in a separate area.
Picnic
—
Enjoy your snack or picnic lunch before or after your tour.
Use our picnic tables or bring blankets and sit on the grass the old
fashioned way. Sure beats the school
cafeteria! Trash
bags are provided so you can carry your trash back to the school
dumpster.
Personal
Touch

We specialize in working with public and private school groups, including
pre-school, kindergarten and elementary classes.
Parents/chaperons are encouraged to join your field trip.
Also, special-needs students and classes are always welcome at Brookdale
